Since official NFL statistics only exist for years after 1931, below is an attempt to piece together a more complete history of the Frankford Yellow Jackets. It was not our intention to create these collections at the outset of our book research but since we were unable to find this information collected anywhere else, we decided it was our responsibility to record the names and statistics we uncovered.
We relied heavily on newspaper accounts from the Frankford Dispatch, Frankford Gazette, Frankford Herald and the Philadelphia Record along with Pro-Football-Reference.com. Players often played for multiple teams within a season, some for just a single game. Therefore some rosters and results may be incomplete (or even incorrect), but hopefully they are a start to recording this important information in football history.
